Red Hutchinson

  The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth,
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil;
For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever.

             Amen

W.T. “Red” Hutchinson, 90, of Mexico, died at 9:48 p.m. May 2, 2003, at Audrain Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5th, at 2 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Sawyer officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mr. Hutchinson was born July 5, 1912, in Centralia, the son of William Thomas and Edith (Coyle) Hutchinson. On November 6, 1934, in Centralia, he married Elaine Duchesne, who survives at the home.

“Red” delivered milk for Audrain Dairy for 35 years. He then worked at Jay’s IGA Foodliner for 10 years, and for the last several years had assisted at Pickering Funeral Home. He was an avid golfer, pool player, and all around sports fan. He didn’t miss many Mexico Bulldog sporting events. In his younger years he and Elaine attended many dances, and he was very “light on his feet.” He was a long-time member of Mexico Odd Fellows Lodge #99.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Barbara Pickering and husband Connie of Mexico, and Brenda Newbrough and husband Jim of Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Ann Hutchinson of Mexico; eight grandchildren and 13 great grand-children.

A son, Bill J. Hutchinson, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

The family suggests memorial gifts be sent to the First Christian Church in Mexico where Mr. Hutchinson was a member.
