Marvin L. Nichols, 75, of Centralia, died at 11:25 p.m. May 21, 2003, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. in Centralia City Cemetery with Rev. Ed Varnum officiating. Pickering Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation. Mr. Nichols was born November 16, 1927 in Boone County the son of William Burnett and Dorothy Ruth (Conley) Nichols. On June 27, 1948, in Centralia, he married Edna Mae Yager, who survives at the home. He had been a Carpenter most of his life. More recently he had been restoring antique tractors and enjoyed attending old thrasher shows. Mr. Nichols was a life member of VFW Post 6276 in Centralia and a member of the N.R.A. In addition to his wife Edna, survivors include three sons, Carl C. Nichols and wife Wendy, Raymond L. and wife Brenda, and Richard A. and wife Faye, all of Centralia; 4 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters and one great grandson. The family suggests memorial gifts be sent to the Missouri Veterans Home Residents fund. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265. |
