Frederick R. Fritschie, 97, of Mexico, died at 7:07 p.m. Friday, Apr. 16, 2004, at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Apr. 20, at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Randall A. Sawyer officiating. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Fritschie was born Apr. 23, 1906, in Mexico, a son of Rudoff and Anna Maria (Betz) Fritschie. On Dec.18, 1929, in Fulton he married Edith M. Campbell who died Aug. 19, 1998.

He was a farmer.

He is survived by one son, Keith Fritschie, Mexico, and two granddaughters, Kari Fritschie, Martinsburg and Kristen Fritschie, Columbia.

Mr. Fritschie was preceded in death by a son Kenneth Fritschie, a brother, Robert Fritschie and three half brothers.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
