She was born on May 17, 1922, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Fred and Susanna (Lutz) Brauner. In 1939 she married David Jones, who died in 1957. In 1961 she married Thomas (Slim) Whitmarsh, who died in 1989. Blondina was very proud of herself for taking care of her mother, Susanna, for 16 years, until the time of her death at the age of 103. She was also the caregiver for her husband, Slim, and her sister, Alberta. She lived in Mexico until May 1997, when she moved to Sun Prairie to be near her son and three granddaughters. She lived at Colonial View for 6 ½ years, and had many friends there. Survivors include her son Tom (Carol) Jones, granddaughters Jodi (Rick) Sonn, Lori (Brian) Oettinger, and Juli (Paul) Nicholson; five great grandchildren, Caitlin and Kelsie Sonn, Alex Oettinger and Brianna and Thomas Nicholson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as several cousins in Missouri and Omaha, Neb. In addition to both her husbands, her parents, four brothers, Fred, Chris, Lawrence and Ernest, and a sister, Alberta Brauner, preceded her in death. A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Hearts, 302 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, Wisc., on April 21, 2004, at 6 p.m. with Monsignor Mollenberndt officiating. Visitation will be held at Pickering Funeral Home, Mexico, Mo., on Wednesday, April 14, 2004, from 10 until 11:30 a.m. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery in Jefferson City, Mo.
