Jack L. Boyce, 79, of Mexico, Mo., formerly of Theodosia, Mo., died at 3:40 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Pin Oaks Nursing Center in Mexico where he had resided for the last two years. Mr. Boyce was born on Oct. 20, 1926, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Merrell Edward and Gladys Noyes Boyce. On June 30, 1950, in Kansas City, he married Mary Jane Richards. He was later married to Barbara Jean Trimble. He had worked in the advertising industry until 1970 and then moved to education and taught in both Connecticut and Georgia. He served in the US Army, was a life member of the National Rifle Association and was also a member of the American Radio Relay League. Survivors include one son, Rick Boyce and his wife Suzanne, Mexico; four daughters, Sue Kirmil and husband Brian, Newtown, Conn., Wendy Pakera, New Milford, Conn., Mary Lynn Boyce, Moosup, Conn., Linda Lindblom, Sandy Hook, Conn.; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three step sons and a step daughter, Adrienne Pfrommer and husband John, Thornfield, with whom he had lived for several years before moving to Mexico. His parents, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Private family services will be held at a later date.
