Marilyn K. Farrah Marilyn Kay Farrah, 63, of Mexico, died at 1:14 a.m. Sept. 12, 2008, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First Christian Church with the Rev. David Nash officiating. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until service time at the church. Pickering Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Ms. Farrah was born on June 23, 1945, in Mexico, the daughter of William Earl and Oneta Pearl Brown Byrd. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mexico. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Atterberry and Barbara Bates, both of Mexico; five grandchildren, April Ann Bates, Samantha Grace Wren, Paula Ann Atterberry, Carl Wayne Atterberry and William Edward Atterberry; two great grandchildren, Jaylen Cortez Johnson and Madasia Raine Breigha Renea Scott; and her extended family at Pin Oaks. Her parents preceded her in death. Memorial gifts may be given to the Residents’ Fund at Pin Oaks, in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.

Marilyn was a dear friend all of our high school years and after. She was so generous and funny. We had many laughs together. I saw her in Nov. when my mom was in Pin Oaks, and she recongized me immediately so we had a nice visit.I lost my mom in Feb. I still haven't gotten over it, I just take one day at a time.
