Laura K. Hampton
Laura K. Hampton, 93, lifelong resident of Mexico, died at 3:05 p.m. May 6, 2009, at the King’s Daughters Home in Mexico, where she had resided for the past six years.
A graveside service will be held in the shelter at Elmwood Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009. Pastor Jonathan Ingram will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Pickering Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hampton was born on Aug. 16, 1915, in Benton City, a daughter of William Frederick and Willie Ethel (Stumpf) Wenger. She was a 1933 graduate of Wellsville High School. On May 9, 1936, in Mexico, she married Rellas Clark Hampton, who died on March 5, 1965.
Survivors include one son, Michael Hampton and wife Coni, Salt Lake City, Utah; one daughter, Donna Henderson and husband Tommy, El Reno, Okla.; two sisters, Wanda Davis and husband Gene, and Dorothy Davis, all of Mexico; three grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob Hampton, both of Salt Lake City, and Tommy Henderson Jr. and wife Lesa, Weatherford, Tex.; and one great grandchild, Tommy Henderson III, Keller, Tex.
In addition to her husband, two brothers, J. Elbert and William W. Wenger, preceded her in death.
