Helen Porter
Helen Marie Porter, 91, of Jefferson City, formerly of Mexico and Moberly, passed away on May 30, 2009, at Heisinger Bluffs Care Center in Jefferson City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2009, at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico with Dr. Bruce Morrison officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly.
Mrs. Porter was born Jan. 3, 1918, in Clark, a daughter of Caleb & Hazel Marie (Thorpe) Lynch, who preceded her in death. On April 17, 1938, in Moberly, she married Edward Elwood Porter, who preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2009. She worked at Brown Shoe Company, became a beautician in September of 1955 in Moberly, and retired while in Mexico. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mexico.
Survivors include a daughter, Judith Kay Warson and husband Russell, Jefferson City; two brothers, Edwin Marshall Lynch of Moberly, and Harold Mitchell Lynch of Columbia; two grandsons and four great grandchildren, Craig Warson and wife Tammy, Blue Springs, and their children, Caleb Warson and Randa Crutcher; and Nathan Warson and wife Carrie, Lebanon, and their children, Case and Ty Porter Warson.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Elwood Lynch.
