Ardeth Welch

Ardeth Worland Welch, 75, of Mexico, died at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday June 3, 2009, at Boone Hospital in Columbia where she was being treated for cancer.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bendan’s Catholic Church with Father John Schmitz officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at Pickering Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Brendan Cemetery.
Mrs. Welch was born July 20, 1933 in Clay, Missouri in Shelby County, a daughter of Arden and Fenton (Bradley) Worland. On April 15, 1955, in Mexico, she married James E. Welch, Sr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2002.
Ardeth was a graduate of St. Brendan Catholic High School and had attended the University of Missouri, Columbia.
Survivors include three sons, James Ed Welch and wife Carol, Thompson, William Steven Welch, Mexico, and Robert K. Welch, Mexico; two sisters, Fannie Gordon Shores, Newton, Iowa, and Mary Celeste Early, LaCanada, California; five grandsons, Jason M. Welch, Matthew J. Welch, Robert J. Welch, Christopher S. Welch, and Stephen L. Welch; and one great-grandson Christopher Zane Welch.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Worland; and two sisters, Emily E. Hickman, and Marvyda R. Elliott Stephens.
Memorials may be given to St. Brendan Catholic Church. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265. |
