Larry DeLarber

 

   Laurence “Larry” DeLarber, 53, of Mexico, died at 8:27 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at his home.

   A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday in St. Louis at Lakewood Park Cemetery, 7330 Mackenzie Road, Affton, Mo. There will be a visitation Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home.

   Mr. DeLarber was born Feb. 23, 1956, in St. Louis, the son of Raymond and Louise E. (Hill) DeLarber. On Aug. 17, 1996, in St. Louis he married Doris A. Ramsey who survives at the home.

   He was a graduate of Affton High School and University of Missouri-St. Louis. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

   Larry worked for 10 years for the City of Mexico as a Building Official. His health forced his retirement in July of 2008. He had 21 years of previous employment in the St. Louis area as a Building Inspector.

   In addition to his wife, survivors include two stepsons, Ryan Hicks, Columbia, and James Hicks, Warrensburg; two brothers, Raymond DeLarber, Jr. and wife Lystra, Auxvasse, and Dale DeLarber and wife Christy, Wright City; and several nieces and nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Laura.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
