Kenneth Kochmann

Kenneth Kochmann, 92, of Mexico, left his earthly home at 4:10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Teal Lake Residential Care Center.

He was born May 6, 1917 in St. Louis and lived there most of his life. On Dec. 14, 1946, in St. Louis, he married Anna Komar who preceded him in death in 2007.  Shortly after her death he moved to Mexico to live with his daughter Cathy and her family. He was delighted to attend church with them at First Presbyterian Church and to call Mexico his home.

Mr. Kochmann was a veteran, having served in the Air Force during World War II. He will be especially remembered for his sense of humor and his friendly and polite demeanor. He was an avid Cardinal baseball fan, a voracious reader and enjoyed traveling and being with his family.

Survivors include two sons, Steve and Mike Kochmann, both of St. Louis; three daughters, Pat Corkery and Pam Kochmann, both of St. Louis, and Cathy Zinkel and husband Bob, Mexico; one brother, Frank Kochmann, Fisk, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Erin Risk, Dan Corkery, Samantha and Benjamin Zinkel, and Kristen and Brandon Kochmann.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a son-in-law, Mark Corkery, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Kukuk officiating. Visitation will be from noon Thursday until service time. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis. A graveside service, with Military Honors, will be held at the cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church or the Mexico YMCA. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
