Madelyn Clark

 

   Madelyn Mae Clark, 5, beloved daughter, sister, and granddaughter, died at 1:41 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at University Hospital in Columbia.

   She was born July 28, 2004 in Mexico, the daughter of Steven Randall and Ondrea Janet (Forbis) Clark.

   In addition to her parents, Randy and Ondie, she is survived by a sister, Alyson E. Clark of the home; Maternal Grandmother, Shirley Forbis, Mexico; Paternal Grandparents, Don and Vicki Mason, Mexico, and Ron and Linda Clark, Mexico; Paternal Great Grandmother, Mildred Vanskike, Mexico; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

   She was preceded in death by one brother, Luke Nathanael Clark; and her Maternal Grandfather, Robert L. Forbis.

   Madelyn was a very caring person and was always concerned about taking care of others. She wanted to be a nurse when she grew up. She attended First Baptist Church, was a student at Janet’s Dance Studio, and this past year was the poster girl for the “Central Office Mexico Schools” Relay for Life team.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Schnipper officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 6 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery.

   Memorials may be given to Ronald McDonald House, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Audrain Dream Factory. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.

We were privledged for our girls to grow together at Linda's and we will always remember her hearty, contagious laughter. We cherish our pictures of her at their "tea party" and how much she loved to dress up. Our hearts go out to all of you.

I wish I could have met Maddie. From the stories I have been told she loved life and made the best of every minute. We could all learn from her example. Madelyn was a true blessing.

Ondie, I am so sorry.. I am so glad that we were able to meet and spend a wonderful day together. I think about that precious little smile, that little girl in her sponge bob bathing suit having so much fun in the pool. Her little lips turning blue because it was so cold but her and Alyson were having a blast. And her saying "Go Popeye's" every time the boat passed by.
