Carolyn Benton
Carolyn Benton, 70, of Holts Summit, died at 5:55 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, 2009, at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City.
Mrs. Benton was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Moberly, a daughter of Kenneth A. and Hazel (Bowman) Price. On Aug. 24, 1957, in Moberly she married Donald E. Benton who preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2006.
She had worked as a psychiatric aide at Fulton State Hospital. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Donald E. Benton, Jr., Holts Summit, and Ronald W. Benton and wife Teresa, Holts Summit; a daughter, Kathy Benton, Auxvasse; a son-in-law, Russell Schneider, Auxvasse; one brother, William Kenneth Price, Jr., Dennison, Texas; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several half-brothers and sisters.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Felicia Lou Benton and Carol Dawn Schneider; and two infant sisters, Judy Marilyn and Barbara Kay.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Moberly.
