Vivian Byrd
Vivian J. Byrd, 84, of Mexico, died at 2 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009 at Golden Living Center/Gamma Road Lodge in Wellsville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Kukuk officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10 until service time. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Byrd was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Mexico, a daughter of William Leslie and Ora Belle (Kettle) Gaines. On Mar. 15, 1946, in Mexico, she married Harold G. Byrd who preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1997.
Vivian had worked for MFA Mill as an office clerk. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one son, Michael G. Byrd and wife Adelina, Fort Collins, Co.; one sister, Gayle Mattox and husband Bill, Mexico; and one granddaughter, Melissa Byrd, Denver, Co.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Shay; and one sister, Betty Brooks.
