Marilyn Wilkerson

Marilyn Jean Wilkerson, 71, of Mexico, died Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 6:30 p.m., at Audrain Medical Center.
Memorial services with the Rev. Randall A. Sawyer officiating will be held at 5 p.m., Friday, March 18, at the Mexico Elk’s Lodge, with an Elks service immediately after the Memorial service. Visitation will be from 4 until 5 p.m., at the lodge.
Mrs. Wilkerson was born on June 4, 1939, in Elkton, Ky., a daughter of Edgar and Margie (Latham) Shemwell. On April 17, 1973, Miami, Okla., she married Luman Tomas Wilkerson, who survives of the home.
Marilyn retired from Missouri Veteran’s Home in March 2003. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Kenny and Linda Shemwell, Clifty, Ky., and Douglas Ferguson, Elkton, Ky.; two daughters, Shelia and Dale Skinner, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Sherry and Michael Quick, Kearney, Mo.; two brothers, Harold Shemwell, Clifty, Ky., and Howard Shemwell, Elkton, Ky.; two sisters, Sharon Ann Hadden, Princeton, Ky., and Faye Laster, Hopkinsville, Ky.; ten grandchildren, Mikah Wilkerson, Logan Skinner, Caleb Quick, Hannah Quick, Alyssa Quick, Kristie Strader, Wesley Shemwell, Scott Ferguson, Alicia Ferguson, and Travis Shemwell; and three great grandchildren.
