Ernest E. Jenkins

Ernest E. Jenkins, 92, of Mexico, died at 2:55 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007, at the Missouri Veterans Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pickering Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Kukuk officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins was born August 14, 1914, in Mexico, the son of Evert Ellsworth and Mary Oma (Sanford) Jenkins.

He was married in Mexico on April 6, 1941, to Norma Hagar. Mrs. Jenkins preceded him in death on January 13, 2005.

Ernest was a veteran and had served in the Army during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 26 for 59 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mexico where he served for 15 years on the Boy Scout Troop 38 committee.

Survivors include one son, L. Alan Jenkins, St. Louis; a sister, Mildred Mae Evans, Ft. Worth, Texas, and one granddaughter, Elise Jenkins, Karlsruhe, Germany.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church and may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
