Adola Furniss

Adola Furniss, 97, of Mexico, died at 12:55 p.m. on August 10, 2010, at Golden Living Center/Pin Oaks.

Mrs. Furniss was born on Feb. 21, 1913, in Ringgold County, Iowa, a daughter of Charles Rufus and Elwilda Wilmina (Ridge) Frederick. On May 20, 1950, in Riverside, Calif. she married Roy Eugene Furniss, who preceded her in death on August 25, 1998.

Adola worked as a beautician, waitress, and seamstress at various times through out her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Royla Furniss, Ann Arbor, Mich.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Elva, Alfred, Truman, Vane, and Johnnie Frederick; and twin sister Viola Gimson.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
