Adrain M. Meeks, 96, of Mexico, went to be with the Lord at 12:45 p.m., Monday, Mar. 18, 2013, at his home.



Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pickering Funeral Home with Pastor Everett Bradshaw officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.Serving as Pallbearers will be Alan Wilson, Elbert Logerman, Larry Palmer, Bob Dailing, Ron Blake, and Don Blake.



Adrain was born Dec. 21, 1916, in Boone County, a son of Ora Otis and Ida Sue (Woods) Meeks. On May 11, 1943, in Mexico, he married Frances A. Norman. Mrs. Meeks died on Aug. 9, 2003.



He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Army. Mr. Meeks worked for many years for Missouri Power and Light. He was a very active member of First Assembly of God Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for many years.



Survivors include one son, Milton Ray Meeks and wife Kristy, Paris; one granddaughter, Judy Wasson and husband Ron, Mexico, who cared for him in their home for the past two years; four great grandchildren, CaSandra Key and husband Dustin, Calwood, Pendell Wasson and Karl Ball, Sturgon, and Steven and Shylowe Goosey, and Quinton Wasson, all of Mexico; and three great-great grandchildren, Hunter and TannerRay Key and Holden Goosey; four step grandchildren, Bailey, Liz, Erin and Tyler. Adrain loved his grandchildren and along with them there were many other children that he was known as Grandpa to.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to theFirst Assembly ofGod Church.
