Barbara Jean McKinney, 73, of St. Charles, died Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at her home.

Private family services will be held with a public memorial service at a later date. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Barbara was born June 12, 1946, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Gayle and Leona (Rippeto) McKinney. She worked most of her life as a counselor in the mental health field. She retired from Magellan Company after 15 years of service.

Barbara was most known for her care and concern for others. She volunteered at hospitals, the zoo, and worked as an election worker. She was a huge St. Louis Cardinals Fan. She loved to travel and she spent a lot of time spoiling her cat Jack.

Survivors include two brothers, Ronald G. McKinney, Mexico, and Stanley E. McKinney and wife Alice, of Pensacola, Florida; her niece and nephews, Nathan, Rachel, and John; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in law, Vicki McKinney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
