Barbara Vroom

Barbara Laura Vroom, 80, of Mexico, died at 8:16 a.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at the Neighborhoods Nursing and Rehab in Columbia.

Barbara was born on May 30, 1935, in New Orleans, Louisiana. A daughter of Woodbridge Strong VanDyke II and Ruth Elizabeth (Mannix) VanDyke.

She was a Breeder of "Show" Giant Schnauzer Dogs.

She is survived by two brothers, Woodbridge (Woodie) Strong VanDyke III, Mohave Valley, Az., and Melvin (John) Lee Straight, Jr. and wife Dianne, Mexico; two sisters, Melanie Kriegel and husband Randall, Mexico, and Melba Atkinson and husband Raymond, Shingletown, Ca.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mark Edgar Fuller, one brother, Winston Stewart VanDyke, and one sister, Michelle Bridgett (Straight) Mazzei.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
