L. R. "Becky" Jones, 67, of Mexico , died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Pin Oaks Nursing Center in Mexico . Ms. Jones was born on September 10, 1936, in Benton City , a daughter of Douglas and Jewellena Talbot Newman. She worked for 30 years as an accounting clerk at the University of Missouri - Columbia , and retired in 1993. Survivors include one son, Frank E. (Gene) Pearson, Mexico; a daughter, Kathy (Pearson) Morgan and husband Mike, Lebanon; three sisters, Nellie Wilson, Grand Junction, Colo., Florence Bedwell, Vandalia, and Joy Kistler, Arlington, SD; and five grandchildren, Megan, Keegan and Kerrigan Pearson, and Kelly and Kristen Morgan. Her parents and one sister, Leveryn Chase, preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, at Pickering Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Walker officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 7 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
