Betty M. Barnett

Betty M. Barnett, 82, of Mexico, died at 12:50 p.m., Friday, December 30, 2011, at Audrain Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Krueger officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.until service time. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Betty was born January 20, 1929, in Plymouth, Ill., a daughter of Claude William and Flora Marie (Payne) Marshall. On December 29, 1959 in Fulton she married R.D. Barnett. Mr. Barnett preceded her in death on August 8, 2005.

Betty was an "Avon Lady" for over 30 years. She had also worked as an Operator for the phone company years ago and for Missouri Brokerage. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Mexico.

Survivors include her children, Sandy Qualls and husband Dewey, Mexico, Kim Wenzel and husband Mike, Mexico, Kevin Barnett and wife Teresa, Mexico, Sheryl Felix and husband Danny, Fairfield, Calif., Darrell Barnett and wife JoElla, Columbia, and Terrell Barnett and wife Ghia, Mexico; one brother, James O. Marshall and wife Linda, Centralia; 24 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Steve Humphrey and Edward Dale Barnett, two daughters, Teresa M. Polacek and Fern Epperson, and two grandchildren, Richard and Deann Epperson.
