Betty Righter

Betty Jean Righter, 81, of Mexico, died at 12:30 a.m. at Westview Nursing Home in Center.

Mrs. Righter was born on May 23, 1926, in Madison, a daughter of Robert Clark and Mary Ellen (Yohe) Smith. She was a graduate of Mexico High School with the class of 1944. On March 3, 1946 in Mexico, she married Perry Lee Righter. Mr. Righter preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2006.

She was an antique collector and an avid head vase collector. She was a member of Southside Christian Church in Mexico.

Survivors include one son, George Righter and wife Kathy, Mexico; a brother, William A. Smith, Hannibal; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, David L. Righter, 2 brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Vernon officiating. Visitation will be tonight from 5 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
