Bonnie Marie Harbison Popp, 94, of Martinsburg, Missouri, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 13, 2025, at King's Daughters Home in Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Mexico. Burial will follow in Benton City Cemetery.

Bonnie was born January 13, 1931, in Etterville, Missouri, the only child of James G. Harbison and Martha Burd "Burdie" Hoskins Harbison. She graduated from Eldon High School and attended business school in Jefferson City. On May 21, 1950, in Eldon, she married Roy G. Popp, who preceded her in death on October 1, 2022.

Bonnie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She distinguished herself as the proud wife of a grain, hog, and cattle farmer, and together she and Roy received many agriculture awards. After raising her children, Bonnie worked for H&R Block. She was also a licensed pilot who enjoyed knitting, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A woman of deep faith, she taught Sunday School for many years. At the time of Roy's passing, the couple had been married for 72 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 67 years and was previously a member of the Sunrise Jolly Neighbors Club.

Bonnie remained active and independent well into her nineties, attending exercise classes at the YMCA three times a week, even in the months prior to her passing. She lived her life with a contagious joy that touched everyone around her.

Survivors include her sons: Richard (Debbie) Popp of Tebbetts, Andy (Linda) Popp of Mexico, Larry (Allison) Popp of Atlanta, Georgia, Randy (Allison) Popp of Fulton, and Doug (Vicki) Norton of Winter Haven, Florida; and son-in-law, Rodney Galloway of Monroe City.

She is also survived by grandchildren: James Galloway, Christine Galloway Hibdon, Cheryl Galloway, Jennifer Popp Davis, Daniel Popp, Brian Popp, Amy Popp Casey, Nicki Popp, Joshua Popp, Adam Neale, Anna Neale Worthington, Joseph Neale, Lance Popp, Matthew Popp, Karlie Popp, Justin Popp, Doug Norton, Jr., and Jennifer Norton McCoy; along with 40 great-grandchildren. A great-great-grandson is expected to arrive in February.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband and by her daughter, Barbara Popp Galloway.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mexico Area Family YMCA or to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home. Contributions can be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
