Bruce Hodges

Bruce Calvin Hodges, 54, of Mexico, died at 9:25 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at his home.

Mr. Hodges was born Oct. 14, 1953 in Mexico to Thomas and Jo Ann (Carmichael) Hodges. On Sept. 24, 1982, in Mexico, he married Nikki Jo Breneman Talbott who preceded him in death on March 14, 1992.

Bruce was a member of the Moolah Shrine Temple, Masonic Lodge, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge and the TPA. He was a member of the First Christian Church. He loved to read, especially westerns, and enjoyed fishing and horses. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and being outdoors.

Mr. Hodges worked for Ameren U.E. since 1979 and held various positions including; the gas crew, Journey Line Worker, and Chief District Meter Tester.

Survivors include his father, Dr. Tom Hodges, Mexico; 2 sons, Patrick A. Talbott and wife Karen, Columbia, and Timothy R.T. Hodges, Mexico; a daughter, Amanda Tanner and husband Bobby, Mexico; a brother, Robbie Hodges and wife Cindi, Mexico; a nephew, Micheal Hodges and wife Fran, China; and a grandson, Asa Talbott.

He was preceded in death by his wife and mother.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Sawyer officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 8 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic service at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or to the Audrain City County Hospice. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
