Calvin O. Wall




Calvin Otis Wall, 71, of Mexico, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at his home in Mexico.


Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10, at 5 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home. There is no visitation.


Mr. Wall was born on May 31, 1935, in Neelyville, a son of Edward Ellsworth Wall, Sr., and Lula Mae Johnson Wall Barnes. On Sept. 4, 1957, in Mexico, he married Charlotte Ray Shivers who preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 2006.


He was a graduate of Wheatley High School in Poplar Bluff and attended Kansas Tech, Topeka, Kansas. He had worked as a Mail Handler for the United States Postal Service. He was a veteran and had served in the Air Force.


Survivors include two sons, Rodney E. Wall, Pensacola, Fla., and Calvin R. Wall and wife Nichole, Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Carol O. Hartzer and husband Gregory, Neelyville, Mo., and Dianna K. Wall, Lusby, Md.; two brothers, Isaac Wall and wife Betty Marie, Chicago, Ill., and Edward Wall and wife Josephine, Dixmoor, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Harris and husband Chester Jones, Jefferson City, and Norma Jones, West Orange, N.J.; ten grandchildren, Aaron Wall, Christian Wall, Rodney E. Wall Jr. and wife Tanya, Caliph Wall, Tariq Wall; Christopher Hartzer and wife Meara, Stephen Hartzer, Phillip Hartzer, Keithe Wall, and Jasmine Yancie, and a great granddaughter Kayla Wall.


In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Wylda Amachree and Vivian Mitchell; one brother Ira Wall, and a daughter, Katherine Lucille.
