Charles L. Lierheimer
Charles Levi Lierheimer, 100, of Mexico, died at 1:15 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2007, at Golden Living Center/Pin Oaks in Mexico.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Stanford officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in EastLawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Lierheimer was born on Oct. 11, 1907, in Audrain County, a son of Ernest William and Mary Louise (Watts) Lierheimer. On March 2, 1930, he married Nelle Augusta Pierce, who preceded him in death on March 25, 1985. Charlie was a farmer, active in Farm Bureau, Audrain Co-Op, and a director of Prairie Lea School for many years. He was a long-time, active member of Littleby United Methodist Church, and when it closed, Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Charles T. Lierheimer and wife Violet of Mexico; grandchildren Steve Lierheimer and wife Paula, Linda Wolf and husband Steve, Debbie Anderson and husband Dennis of Virginia Beach, Va., Michael, Dennis, Mark, Jeffrey and wife Wendy, Eric and wife Jane, all of Mexico; a brother Fred Lierheimer and wife Edna, and special friend Elzene Black of Newtown, Mo. Nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.
One son, Bill C. Lierheimer, two brothers, Ralph and Edwin, and three sisters, Anna Snook, Edith Witchie and Helen Shoemaker, preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the Littleby Methodist Cemetery Association, or to the Audrain City-County Home Health and Hospice. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
