Charles E. " Chuck" Martin

Charles E. Chuck Martin, 59, of Mexico, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 1, 2007, in Mexico.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Spurling officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Martin was born in Mexico on June 6, 1947, a son of Frank Isaac and Pauline Elizabeth Kelsay Martin. He was a graduate of Mexico High School, had served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Thompson. He had been employed as a sheet metal worker with Mexico Heating since 1970. On July 12, 1968, in Rome, Tennessee, he married Donna Bush, who survives at the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Bryon Martin, Columbia; two daughters, Brandy Chatfield, Mexico and Amanda Martin of the home; two brothers, William F. Martin and wife Judy, Benton City, and Harold Lee Martin and wife Robin, Paris; two grandchildren, Felicia Chatfield and Jonathon Chatfield, Mexico; and his mother-in-law, Wilma Dean Bush, Mexico. Chuck was raised in the home of Carolyn Thomas and she was like a mother to him, she also survives.

His parents and one sister, Emma, preceded him in death.
