Charles P. "Chuck" Williams, 83, of Mexico, died at 12:55 p.m., Sunday March 17, 2019, at Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico.

The family will hold private memorial services at a later date. Pickering Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Chuck was born Dec. 23, 1935, in Marshall, Mich., the son of Pownall and Lois (Swift) Williams. He was a veteran of the US Army and served as a decorated member of the 75th Ranger Regimen. He did two tours in Viet Nam, and also served in Korea and Germany. He was inducted into the Ranger Hall of Fame at Ft. Benning Georgia. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and camping.

He was married on April 6, 1957, in Battle Creek, Mich. to Roberta Smith who survives at the home.

In addition to his wife survivors include two sons, Robert Williams and wife Tessie, Laveen, Airz., and Michael Williams, Fulton; one daughter Debbie Tarbell and husband Chris, Gilbert, Airz., one sister Nancy Benham and husband Bob, Alva, Fla.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dale Williams.
