Curtis was born on December 24, 1938 in Mexico, the son of Carl E. and Birdie L. (Sims) Jung. On November 24, 1959 he married Marilyn S. Patton in Mexico.
Growing up, Curtis lived on FF and back in those days, those who lived outside city limits were known as the "country kids". Curtis loved living in the country and he attended Jesse School which was also on Route FF. Curtis was always known as being hardworking, kind, helpful, always checking in on others and doing things for those who couldn't do for themselves. Those who knew him best knew he had a very soft and sweet heart.
Curtis and Marilyn were members of Kentucky Road Christian Church. Curtis was a proud member of the Teamsters Labor Union during his time at Orschlen, and he also worked for MFA and Wetterau. He had a knack for all things mechanical, he ran an electronics and appliance store in Mexico, where he not only sold appliances but repaired them as well. A true "Jack of All Trades", Curtis had a special passion for working on his own vehicles, always enjoying the challenge of making them run just right. Whether it was tinkering under the hood or fixing something around the house, he loved getting his hands dirty and finding solutions. He'll be remembered for his hard work, his wide range of skills, and the satisfaction he found in doing things with his hands.
Survivors include his loving wife Marilyn; two sons, Curtis Jung (Karen) of Benbrook, Texas, Brian Jung (Joy) of League City, Texas; one sister, Judy Wagner of Mexico; four grandchildren, Mary Jung of Sachse, Texas, Sarah Seraphin (Michael) of Benbrook, Texas, Megan Venable (Brennan) of Youngstown, Florida, and Emily Jung of League City, Texas; five great grandchildren, Kylie, Micah, Austin, Jackson, and Ellie.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; and one great granddaughter, Autumn.
Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
