Dale K. Weir, 67, of Fulton, died at 7:41 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2018, at his home in Fulton.


Dale was born April 18, 1951, in Galesburg, Illinois. He was the son of Gale and Gladys (Morgan) Weir. On May 5, 1973, in Maquon, Illinois, he married Frances C. Knox. Mrs. Weir survives.


Private family services will be held at a later date. Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico handled the arrangements.


He had worked for Caterpillar for 44 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Fulton.


He loved Western movies, especially John Wayne, planting trees, gardening, and he had been a Boy Scout volunteer.


In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Melinda DeWees and husband Josh, Astoria Ill., and Rebecca Diekamp and husband Michael, Fulton; two sons, Christopher Weir and wife Morgan, East Peoria, Ill., and Nathaniel Weir, Fulton; two sisters; and seven grandchildren, Mikayla and Elena DeWees, Kaleb, Jadon, Ansel, and Garin Diekamp, and Corran Weir.


He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one son, Matthew Weir.


In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to First Christian Church, 6 East 7th Street, Fulton, MO 65251, to be used for Kingdom's Kids.
