Daniel Lee Robinett

Daniel “Dan” Lee Robinett, 62, of Auxvasse, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Pickering Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Case officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Dan was born on January 5, 1964 in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Edward and Thelma (Moore) Robinett. On July 27, 2019 he married Marie Dautenhahn in Washington, Missouri, who survives.

SFC Robinett joined the Air Force as an Avionics Instrument System Specialist in 1982 and served until 1986. He transferred to the 1107th AVCRAD with the Army National Guard Active Duty (AGR) in 1987. SFC Robinett deployed with the AVCRAD in 2003 to Kuwait and Iraq as their Electronic Maintenance Chief. He retired from the military with over 22 years service in 2005. He was awarded numerous medals and ribbons, including the Bronze Star for his overseas performance and a Meritorious Service Medal. Upon his retirement, Dan transitioned to the civilian workforce in the aviation communications field, serving military forces around the world. Many times, he found himself training and assisting the same Servicemen he worked with during his military career. He retired from Astronics Test Systems, Inc. in 2026. Dan’s passions included working on his hobby farm, hunting with friends, and working on projects in his garage, restoring old tractors and trucks. The family lovingly jokes that nothing was ever finished. He enjoyed attending car, tractor and steam engine shows with his friends and family. Dan also loved to ride his Harley Davidson across the U.S. and often remarked that the best trip he ever made with his wife was to Glacier National Park and Banff National Park in Canada. His greatest pride and joy was spending time with his family and his final days were happily spent playing cards around the kitchen table, continuing a long-standing family tradition. His sage advice on all things will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Robinett of Auxvasse; one son, Nathan Robinett (Emily) of Kansas City, Missouri; three stepsons, Nick Olivas (Macy) of Rolla, Ryan Dautenhahn of Thailand, Cameron Orlando (Kaya) of Auxvasse; one stepdaughter, Kaycee Orlando (Daniel) of Ballwin; one brother, Sam Robinett (Rhonda) of Auxvasse; one sister Carolyn “Susie” Steidinger (Robert) of Auxvasse; three grandchildren, Tyler Edie, Talon Olivas, and Kyan Olivas. 

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Michelle Robinett.
