Darlene Hiatte, 82, of Mexico, passed away with her family by her side at 12:40 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Kings Daughter's Home in Mexico.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
Darlene Frances Struttmann was born in Rhineland, Missouri on September 21, 1942. She was the daughter of Ben Henry and Frances Elizabeth (Bartley) Struttmann. On June 2, 1962, in Berger, Missouri, she married Willie Hiatte. Mr. Hiatte preceded her in death on January 8, 2021.
Darlene worked at Florshiem Shoe Factory in Mexico and later worked at A.B. Chance\Hubble in Centralia. She was a member of the Odd Fellow's Lodge in Mexico, and she attended and volunteered at the Mexico Senior Nutrition Center. She had also delivered for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth W. (Dawn) Hiatte, of Warrenton; two daughters, Peggy A. Hiatte, of Mexico, and Penny (Tony) Rutherford, of Mexico; six grandchildren, Clayton Hiatte, Weston Rutherford, Auston Rutherford, James Connor, Keyari Lewis, and Maverick (Theresa) Kuda; two great-grandchildren, Kodie and Wyatt Kuda; and her companion of the past several years, Don Bryan, of Mexico.
In addition to her husband Willie, she was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Benny Struttmann.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Audrain Relay for Life or to the Mexico Senior Nutrition Center. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
