Dave Kelsay


Dave Kelsay, 66, of Mexico, died at the University Hospital in Columbia on Aug. 22, 2006.


Mr. Kelsay was born on Sept. 20, 1939, in Audrain County, the son of Garland Earl and Dessie Pearl (Stuart) Kelsay. He graduated from Mexico High School. On Sept. 3, 1959, in Columbia, he married Arleen Broeker.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Pickering Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Ostrom officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.


Mr. Kelsay was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying gardening, fishing, hunting and livestock. He also enjoyed visiting the Amish. He had been employed at Optec, and over the years had worked at Erdel s and Tharp s.


Survivors include four children, Robbie Settle and husband Steve, Mexico, Richard Kelsay and Tammy Hoover, Auxvasse, Rita Loyd and husband Jay, Mexico, and Revie Pursifull and husband Pat, Mexico; two brothers, Mike Kelsay and Tim Kelsay and wife Mae, all of Mexico; two sisters, Becky Rice, Salt Lake City, and Dee Dee George and husband Lindell, Mexico; 11 grandchildren, Dena, Jessie, Amy, Jeremy, Chris, Josh, Jenny, Shannon, Megan S, Megan K, and Myranda; one great grandchild, Sydney; three nieces, Angie, Brenda and Wendy Lee; seven nephews, Wade, Kenny, Troy, Danny, Todd, Ryan and Scott.


His mother Dessie, father Garland, grandparents and several aunts and uncles preceded him in death.


Memorial gifts may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Central Missouri Kidney Association, in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
