Delores Metcalf

Delores Dee Metcalf, 70, of Mexico, formerly of Benbrook, Texas, passed away at 8:15 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007 at Golden Living Center/Gamma Road in Wellsville.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m. at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico with Jonathan Ingram officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens between Wellsville and Montgomery City. There will also be a memorial service held in Fort Worth, Texas at a later date.

Delores was born Aug. 13, 1937 in Cello, Ill., a daughter of Andrew and Maggie J. (Miller) Calvetti. In 1989 she married Arlos Metcalf of Benbrook, Texas. He passed away on Oct. 25, 2005.

She was employed by Sam s Club until the time of her illness. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family.

She had been active in 4-H, and had served as a Sunday School Teacher, was a member of Bonhomme Club and enjoyed crafts and sewing. She was a member of the Montgomery City Christian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Alan W. Oliver, Tulsa, Okla., and Steve Metcalf and wife Connie, Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Janet L. Reynolds, Mexico, Karen S. Hoagland and husband Jerry, Mexico, and Kathy Metcalf, Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Charlene Poplawski, St. Charles, seven grandchildren, Doug and Christine Reynolds, Jeff and Kimberly Hoagland, Denver Oaks, and Megan and Jarad Metcalf; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Reynolds; one niece and several nephews.

Her parents and her husband preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the charity of the donors choice. They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
