Dolly Irene Wright

Dolly Irene Wright, age 93, of Mexico, passed away 12:50 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Golden Living Center - Pin Oaks Nursing Center in Mexico.

Funeral services will be held at The First Christian Church in Mexico on Tuesday, December 14 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend David Nash officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park at a later date.Mrs. Wright donated her body to the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine Gift of Body Program.

Mrs. Wright was born July 5, 1917 in Wessington Springs South Dakota, a daughter of John McFarling and Mary Jane Schwartz McFarling. She married Bland M. Wright on February 9, 1956, in Bowling Green, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2001.

Mrs. Wright is survived by two step children, Ann Dittmer and Gene Wright, step grandchildren, including Richard Wright of Mexico, Missouri, a brother-in-law, Truman Cooley of Centralia, Missouri, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Bland, Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, five sisters, and one infant sister. Her siblings were: Bertha McFarling Woodruff, Lester McFarling, Lee McFarling, Fern McFarling Clifton, Mary McFarling Coolley, Bert McFarling, Eva McFarling Moran, Ila McFarling Riechow, Harold McFarling, Floyd McFarling, Richard McFarling and Curtis McFarling.

Dolly retired from Florsheim Shoes were she worked for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mexico. Dolly loved entertaining her friends, cooking, fashion and playing cards. Her positive outlook on life and boundless energy will be missed by her many dear friends.
