Donald Edwin Weaver, 79, of Columbia (formerly of Mexico), passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of November 27, 2024 at The Bluffs in Columbia.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Pickering Funeral Home. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Donald was born in Flint, Michigan on April 7, 1945, to Donald and Remona Weaver.  On June 8, 1968, he married Janet Elaine Hendren.  She preceded him in death on October 4, 2008.  He married Glynda Durk on June 16, 2012, who survives him.

He was a graduate of the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and worked as an electrical engineer.  He retired from AB Chance Company / Hubbell Power Systems in Centralia, MO.

He is survived by two sons, William (Danielle) Weaver of Macon, John (Leigh) Weaver of Columbia, two daughters, Melodie (David) Eisenhofer of Muncie, Indiana, Merrie (Bill) Gorsky of Jefferson City, one sister, Grace Barr of Clio, Michigan, one sister-in-law, Shirley Weaver of Flint, Michigan, one brother-in-law, Larry Woods of Mexico and seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to Janet Weaver, he was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Viola Rhoads and Marian Martin, brothers Theodore and Herbert Weaver, brother-in laws Norman Rhoads, Garnet Martin and German Barr all of Michigan, sister-in-laws Susan Woods of Mexico, Wilma Hendren and Carol Willie and a granddaughter, Elayna Gorsky.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Parkinson's Foundation or The Mexico First Church of the Nazarene.
