Dorothy Cissell

Dorothy Marie Cissell, 79, of Quincy, Ill., formerly of Mexico, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at 5:05 a.m., at Sunset Home in Quincy.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 14, at Pickering Funeral Home with Fr. John Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in St. Brendan s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service.

Mrs. Cissell was born on Feb. 7, 1931, in Mexico, a daughter of Taylor R. and Marie (O Toole) Rockwood. She was married to Wilford Snarr and together they had one son, Wilford Dean Snarr and one daughter, Gloria Marie Perry, both preceding her in death. In Dec. 1977, she married Bertrand Cissell he preceded her in death in 1978.

Dorothy was a member of St. Brendan s Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Snarr, Quincy; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and children, she is preceded in death by one brother, Taylor Rockwood and one sister, Patricia Rehma.
