Dorothy E. Linnemann, 73, of Mexico, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, in Mexico.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Friendship Baptist Church in Mexico.
Dorothy was born April 18, 1953, in Mexico. She was the daughter of Francis Owen and Betty June (Stringer) Durham. On January 1, 1996, she married Harold Linnemann, who survives.
Dorothy graduated from Mexico High School in the class of 1973. She worked for years at Mexico Plastics in Mexico. She had also worked at the Golden Corral in Mexico. She had worked with Boy and Girl Scouting. She was a past Boy Scouts Grand Prairie Commissioner. She was a volunteer at the Help Center in Mexico. She loved her cats and country music. She also never missed watching Wheel of Fortune.
In addition to Harold, survivors include one son, Justin Baker (Tiffany), of Sedalia; one daughter, Jennifer Scarborough (Earl), of Auxvasse; one brother, Keith Durham, of Bowling Green; one sister, Clara Smith (Frank), of Buffalo, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Caitlin Appling, of Mexico, Lizzy Appling, of Mexico, Clayton Appling, of Mexico, Harmony Baker, of Centralia, Olivia McWhorter (Zachary), of Mexico, Shayla Baker, of Sedalia, and Caleb Baker, of Sedalia; four great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Lilyana, Guinevere, and Seraphina; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Jason Ray Baker; a son, James Roger Baker, a brother, Alpha Durham, two sisters, Edith Ileen Dillow, and Mary Lou Scott.
