E. A. Pourie

E. A. Pourie, 95, of Columbia, died at 9 a.m. Feb. 12, 2007, at Lenoir Skilled Nursing Center in Columbia.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Pourie was born on March 27, 1911, in St. Louis, the son of Albert E. and Anna Jacques Gansler. He was later adopted by W. D. Pourie, his stepfather. On Dec. 22, 1934, in St. Louis, he married Golda Marie Clark, who survives. Mr. Pourie was an aeronautical engineer and worked for McDonnell-Douglas including the space program until he retired. He was a Mason.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter Gail Purcell and husband Murray, Mexico, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

His parents, a brother, and a daughter preceded him in death.
