Edna E. Lierheimer, 89, of Mexico, died at 5:55 a.m., Sunday June 12, 2016, at SSM St. Mary's -Audrain in Mexico.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, at Pickering Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Stanford officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Littleby Methodist Cemetery.
Edna was born on Oct. 18, 1926, a daughter of Earl Thomas and Nellie Mary (Pulis) Jesse. On Feb. 22, 1947, in Rush Hill, she married Fred "Fritz" Lierheimer who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2010.
Edna worked briefly as a nurse's aide at Audrain Hospital where she met Fred. She and Fred were very active in the now closed Littleby Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Most recently she was a member of the Rush Hill Community Church. She enjoyed canning, flower gardening, traveling and taking photos along with her "full time" job of caring for her family as a loving mother and grandmother. Many more than her own family knew her as grandmother.
She is survived by three sons, Kenny Lierheimer and wife Vicki, Benton City, Dan Lierheimer and wife Brook, Lake Ozark, and David Lierheimer, Benton City; four daughters, Susan Davidson and husband Ken, Blue Springs, Jeannie Millard and husband Bob, Mexico, Mary Jo Lierheimer, Mexico, and Sally Lierheimer, Tujunga, Calif.; one foster brother, Ed Kreyling, Mexico; one sister, Nancy Miller, Mexico; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Mae Hubble and Mary Elizabeth Rosenthal; and one brother, Raymond Jesse.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Rush Hill Community Church, King's Daughters Home, or the Handi Shop.
They may be sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
