Edwin "Eddie" Ray Fox, 77, of Mexico, passed away Sunday evening, April 26, 2026, at Boone Hospital in Columbia after an extended battle with illness.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Church of God Holiness in Mexico, with Pastor Steve Dillon officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Eddie was born October 19, 1948, in Mexico, Missouri. He was the son of Edwin and Mary (Montague) Fox. On February 15, 1991, in the Rush Hill Community Church, he married Roberta "Bert" Albus, who survives.

Eddie worked for 20 plus years for the Missouri Department of Transportation.  He started working at the shed in Mexico and later became the maintenance supervisor of the shed in Centralia until his retirement.  He also worked at La Crosse Lumber in Mexico and the Martinsburg Farmers Elevator.

Eddie was a faithful member of the Church of God Holiness in Mexico, Missouri, where he found great joy in serving alongside his church family and rarely missed a Sunday. He especially enjoyed being part of Operation Christmas Child, from buying items to packing the boxes and he took pride in helping Bert decorate the sanctuary. Eddie built lasting friendships at church and was known affectionately as "Brother Boyfriend". He was always glad to lend a hand wherever it was needed. His kindness extended beyond the church walls, even earning him a Red Cross certificate for saving a life through mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and felt most at home in it. Whether he was fishing, deer hunting, bow hunting, or out snagging and carp fishing, especially with Enrika, he cherished those simple, quiet moments. He also enjoyed drag racing at Mid-America Raceway and had a special place in his heart for his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. At home, he found just as much satisfaction in mowing, gardening, and tending to his chickens and a pair of geese. He was rarely still for long and was always happiest when he was outside, working with his hands or enjoying the fresh air.

More than anything, he loved his family. He treasured time spent with them, whether at home or on the road, as he was always up for a good trip or a new place to see. He also held a special fondness for his boys at Dos Arcos in Mexico, Missouri, where he was always welcomed like family. His life was full of simple joys, strong faith, and genuine connections, and he will be remembered for the way he cared for the people around him and the life he built with them.

Eddie is survived by his beloved wife Bert; two daughters, Enrika Fox of Vandalia and Pamela McCown (Derek Knight) of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; one granddaughter-in-law, Sara McCown McCarraher of Luray, Virginia; two grandchildren, Connor McCown of Virginia and Tessa Fox-Davis (Kanen Lutz) of Homer, Illinois; one great grandchild, Edward McCown of Virginia;  two brothers, Ronald Fox (Sharon) of Mexico and Ricky Fox (Sharlotte) of Mexico; two sisters, Janice Meranda of Mexico and Joyce Hawkins (John) of Mexico; seven nephews, Nathaniel Jordan and family of Jefferson City, Harold Fox and family of Mexico, John Fox and family of Mexico, Michael Fox and family of Mexico, Joshua O'Rourke and family of Fulton, Jeremy Fox and family of Mexico, and Jason Hawkins and family of Mexico; 9 nieces, Amy Husted and family of Jefferson City, Savannah Jordan of Jefferson City, LaShay Williams and family of Mexico, Shannon Conn and family of Ohio, Chastity Harris and family of Mexico, Amber Garcia and family of Kansas, Sandy Stone and family of Bogard, Missouri, and Alexis Clifford and Abigail Clifford of Mexico; and one great-great nephew, Colter Jordan of Jefferson City.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Robert "Bobby" Brown; one sister Connie Ingebritson; one brother-in-law Kenny Ingebritson; one son-in-law, Mickey Davis; one niece, Regina Clifford; and one nephew-in-law, Ryan Clifford.
