Elaine Hutchinson

Elaine J. Hutchinson, 92, of Mexico, died at 7:40 P.M. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, at the King's Daughters Home where she had been a resident for about four years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at Pickering Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall A. Sawyer officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Hutchinson was born on April 3, 1915, in St. Louis, the daughter of Joseph Irondale and Virgie Green Duchesne. Her family moved to Mexico when she was very young. She was a graduate of Mexico High School in the class of 1932. On Nov. 6, 1934, in Centralia, she married William T."Red" Hutchinson, who died on May 2, 2003. In addition to raising her family, she worked at International Shoe Company during the 1940's and at Weiss' Dress Shop for 25 years. She was a lifetime member of First Christian Church in Mexico, the Christian Women's Fellowship of the church, and the IOOF Auxiliary. She was a member of a Liverpool Rummy card playing club for more than 60 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Pickering and husband Connie, Mexico, and Brenda Newbrough, Greenwood, Ind.; a daughter-in-law Ann Hutchinson, Mexico; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son Billy Joe Hutchinson, one son-in-law Jim Newbrough, one brother Warren Duchesne, one stepsister Jane Hoer and two stepbrothers Richard and Kenneth Garrett and one great granddaughter Emily Newbrough.
