Ethel Whitehead

Ethel Berniece Whitehead, 86, of Mexico, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at 5:05 a.m., at King s Daughters Home.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday Nov. 1, at Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Melodie Eisenhofer officiating. There will be no visitation and Pickering Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Whitehead was born on June 3, 1924, in Mexico, the daughter of Elmore Reid and Wardy Ethel (Bobbitt) Browning. She graduated from Madison High School and on Jan 1, 1946, in Olathe, Kans., she married Ottis Raymond Whitehead, who preceded her death.

Ethel was a Methodist who loved working in her flower garden, cooking, and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Whitehead, Mexico; and three nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers.
