James R. "Bud" Haubner, 67, of Auxvasse, died at 6:30 a.m. Feb. 3, 2004, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mexico. Visitation will be on Friday, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Haubner family cemetery. Pickering Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Mr. Haubner was born on June 20, 1936, in Mexico, a son of Chester Martin and Thelma Mae (Brown) Haubner. On June 10, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he married Mary Margaret Sherrow, who survives at the home. Mr. Haubner had farmed all his life on the family farm north of Auxvasse. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he was a High Priest Counselor, he had worked in the St. Louis temple and had been a cast member in the City of Joseph church musical. In addition to his wife, survivors include four sons, Richard Haubner and wife Jenny, Auxvasse, Steven Haubner and wife Jamie, Virginia Beach, Va., Roger Haubner and wife Theresa, Auxvasse, and Christopher Haubner and wife Ashley, Columbia; four daughters, Shelly Saxon and husband Gus, Auxvasse, Cindy Parrish and husband Nick, Thompson, Melanie Allen and husband Roderick, Columbia, and Wanda Haubner, Columbia; one sister, Mary Jean Seale and husband Charlie, Auxvasse; and 23 grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death. The family suggests memorials be given to the Haubner Cemetery Memorial Fund in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
