Floyd B. Ash

Floyd B. Ash, Jr., 86, of Ozark, formerly of Mexico, died at 7:15 a.m., today, Nov. 9, 2006, at the Baptist Home in Ozark.

Mr. Ash was born on Oct. 12, 1920, in Garber, Okla., a son of Floyd Beldon and Julia Ann Hobbs Ash. He served in the Army Air Corps from August 1942 until November 1945. On April 21, 1946, in Middletown, he married Edith Fern Hall, who survives.

He worked for Montgomery Ward when they first came to Mexico and then worked as a machinist at A.P. Green for 15 years, retiring in 1965. He spent 41 years in a wheelchair due to an illness. He loved flower gardening and enjoyed sharing his flowers with family and friends. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Mexico.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a sister-in-law, Doris Ash, Montgomery City; three nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother Hugh Ash.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pickering Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Smith and the Rev. Tommy Harper officiating. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown.
