Frank Milton Vassos, 84, of Centralia, died at 4:08 a.m., Nov. 14, 2005, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Pickering Funeral Home with the Rev. Wesley Keeling officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. Vassos was born on April 20, 1921, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, the son of Milton Frank and Florence Myrtle Welch Vassos. On Feb. 12, 1947, in Dillon, South Carolina, he married Eunice Hall, who survives at the home. He farmed west of Mexico for many years. He also worked at the family-owned Mom and Pop's Café in Mexico from 1940 until 1954. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Beverly Jones and husband Perry, Centralia, and Mona Vassos, Kansas City, Mo.; one son, Milton Vassos and wife Kathy, Centralia; five grandchildren, Robbie Moss, Columbia, Dustin Vassos, Centralia, Shelby Vassos, Centralia, Pam Wilhite and husband Steve, Centralia, and Salina Green and husband David, St. Louis; and one great grandchild, Jordan Wilhite, Centralia.
