Freddie W. English


Freddie W. English, 69, of Montgomery City, died at his home Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2007.


Mr. English was born on Oct. 12, 1936, in Bachelor, the son of John Henry and Ella Gertrude (Meadow) English. He graduated from Fulton High School in the class of 1955. He enlisted in the Air Force in May 1957, where he became a jet engine mechanic. He was discharged in May 1963. On Aug. 30, 1963, in Mexico, he married Carol Fennewald, who survives at the home. He worked for 6 ½ years for TWA as a federal mechanic. In 1968 he returned to central Missouri to farm. He was member of the Lions Club and a lifetime member of the FAA.


In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Larry Wayne English, Kansas City; a daughter, Joyce Ann Atwell and husband Josh, also of Kansas City; one granddaughter, Lauren Ann; and several nieces and nephews.


Three brothers, Billy Gene English, Roger English and Joe English, one sister, Roberta Stamper and an infant daughter, Ellen Marie English, preceded him in death.


Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Mexico. Visitation was Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico. Burial was in Auxvasse Cemetery.
