Geraldine Cleesen

Geraldine Cleesen, 94, of Jefferson City, formerly of Paris, died at 5:45 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2014, at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jeannie Martin Dudenhoeffer officiating. There will be no visitation.

Geraldine was born on August 9, 1920, in Mexico, Mo., the daughter of George Everette and Maude May (Gengrich) Stewart. On June 14, 1939 in Centralia, she married Joseph W. Cleesen, who preceded her in death on April 6, 2002.

Geraldine was Methodist. She enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, embroidering, and for years made her family clothing. Geraldine also managed her husband's trucking business.

Survivors include two sons, Stephen Cleesen and wife Delores of Lubbock, Tex. and Christopher Cleesen and wife Janet of Longview, Tex.; two sisters, Billie Dawson and Imajean Stewart both of Jefferson City; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother, and one son.
