Guy T. Pickering Jr.


Guy Thomas Pickering Jr., 80, of Fulton, died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at 1:40 p.m., at Fulton Nursing and Rehab.


Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 on Saturday at Maupin Funeral Home.


Mr. Pickering was born on Dec. 27, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., a son of Guy Thomas and Ellen Elizabeth (Wright) Pickering. On July 22, 1955, in Fulton, he married Florence Dee Hopsecker, who survives at the home. He was a craftsman at Pickering Sheet Metal for many years. He also worked for the Missouri Highway Department.


In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Roger Pickering, and Larry Pickering and Sharon, all of Fulton; two daughters, Linda Elledge and Mike, and Lisa Brewer and Les, all of Fulton; one brother, Connie Pickering and Barbara, Mexico; 7 grandchildren, Lucas, Coty and Ariela Pickering, Jason and Tiffany Clark, and Danielle and Brandon Brewer, all of Fulton; and several nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in deathby one son, Bob Pickering and one brother, Donald Pickering.


Memorials may be made to the Garrett Animal Shelter or St. Jude s Children s Research Hospital and sent in care of Pickering Funeral Home, 403 N. Western, Mexico, MO 65265.
